Are you towing illegally?

Towing laws differ across Australian States and Territories and there can be hefty fines and licence demerit points if you break them.

Each state has slightly different road laws and regulations. In addition to not exceeding maximum weights for towing vehicles and caravans some of the things you need to be aware of such as: Towing mirrors, number plates obstructed by towbars, the correct number plate height from the ground, ‘Do not overtake turning vehicle’ signs and the laws that relate to them, speed limits when towing, caravan swaying, etc.

Five reasons you should get your caravan and tow vehicle weighed by Get Weighed

Get peace of mind knowing your caravan and tow vehicle weights are under the legal limits. Know and understand your GVM, GTM, ATM, and GCM. Ensure you you are safe and save yourself a hefty fine and loss of points on your drivers licence.

To avoid all of this, it is important to weigh your caravan (and your entire rig) correctly before leaving for your next holiday.
